HeadsUp Kippax Inc. is a unique charity dedicated to supporting people, particularly women, experiencing hair loss due to chemotherapy, alopecia, surgery, and radiation. Their service includes selling a large variety of wigs alongside an extensive selection of headwear, including turbans, scarves, summer and winter hats, berets, and various accessories. Some of their wig brands include Rene of Paris & CelebrityBranz, in human and synthetic hair, stock available both in their physical shop and a smaller selection online.
The charity is staffed by a team of trained, empathetic volunteers who provide services in a private and supportive environment. Clients are encouraged to make an appointment for a custom fitting of wigs, assistance with styling, and learning various headscarf tying techniques. As a non-profit, the organisation relies on sales, grants, and donations to operate, focusing its mission on supporting and catering to all clients regardless of their hair loss cause or personal style.

Innovative Wigs provides premium wigs and hairpieces for both men and women experiencing hair loss due to medical conditions, pattern baldness, or other reasons. While they also offer full-service hairdressing, their wig service focuses on high-quality synthetic wigs sourced from the United States, which they prefer for their natural look, comfort, longevity and cost-effectiveness compared to human hair. They offer a comprehensive selection of wigs and hairpieces, designed to be lightweight, easy-care, and look like “healthy, voluminous human hair.”
A key feature of Innovative Wigs is their personalised and all-inclusive service. Every wig purchase includes an initial consultation, professional wig selection, shaping, cutting, and after-sales advice and care instructions from their experienced stylists. They create a seamless and professional salon environment and are notably Transgender Friendly, committed to helping people from all walks of life find a look that suits their personality and lifestyle. They also offer flexible wear options for men’s wigs, including short-term tape for 2-3 days or a tape and glue method lasting up to four weeks, and confirm their wigs are water-friendly for activities like swimming and showering.

Please note:  we only provide our Wig Service to clients who have lost their hair as a result of cancer treatment.

The Cancer Council ACT Wig Service is a charitable program specifically designed to support individuals who have experienced hair loss due to cancer treatment. The service provides a wide selection of wigs, turbans, hats, and beanies. A critical feature that sets this service apart is its pricing model: thanks to the generosity of donors and the Snow Foundation, every client is entitled to one item of headwear at no cost (either a wig or a turban). Clients may purchase additional headwear at a significantly subsidised rate.
This service is delivered in a comfortable and confidential setting at the Cancer Council ACT Office in Deakin and is available by appointment only. Their staff are trained to assist clients in finding a suitable piece and provide resources, including videos, on wig care and headscarf styling. The organisation also gratefully accepts donations of new or gently used wigs and turbans to support the program.
